last sunday, we went out with josh & jessica for their "engagement" shoot.
although it was a windy and chilly day - they did an amazing job!!!
they're both photogenic and super fun people to chill with.
and daniel and i are super stoked that we're friends with them.
we also had the privilege of doing "family" shots of them with their amazingly adorable puppy, bacon!!
seriously - i LOVE that dog!!

lastnight we went to victory and saw daniels cousins in "he's alive".
and this morning i sang in the choir for all three services at destiny.
AAAAAMAZING!!!!
man.
i absolutely LOVE my church.
like... seriously.

today marked the one year anniversary of me meeting daniels family here in tulsa.
we went to his aunt and uncles place for lunch.
lots of family and good food all around!!
i even played a game with the fam!!!
thats a big deal - i don't usually like games.
and then i took a 5 hour nap!
it was much needed.
i haven't been sleeping well lately.

i finished another slideshow.
it's the one i made telling about the brief courtship daniel and i had.
heh.
it goes by the months from when we met.
til when we got married.
it's also to the song we first danced to.
and the song literally tells the story of us. :)
good times.

this week.
daniel and i had a more than extreme privilege to do a photo shoot for our pastor and his family. the shoot took place on the grounds and in the construction of our more than rad church!!
they're probably the #1 family we've done in the "fun & photogenic" category!
i had such a blast editing their images.

it's true.
i've been sick the last week 1/2.
and i'm so looking forward to having my life back.
it actually started about a month ago.
but it hit me full force last week.

it started with a sore throat.
losing my voice.
headaches.
chest pain.
plugging of the ears.
then once the painful cough started a day later.
i immediately went to the doctor.
the result?? walking pneumonia!!!
after i was diagnosed.
the chills. fever. cold sweats. fatigue. etc. all started.
and i was stuck in bed for a few days.

i'm starting to feel a whole lot better.
the only thing i'm really dealing with is chest pain.
when i do things such as running an errand, cleaning the house, etc.
i start to feel pressure on my chest. my throat flares up. and i get super duper tired and sweaty. blech.
for me - this sucks!
i keep wanting to get things done and do my normal life stuff.
but then i get a speech from daniel on how i'm trying to do too much.
bummer.

i attempted singing the other night while at home.
yeahhh.... not a good idea.
my heart started beating fast and my chest pain made a ridiculous return.
so i'm not going to sing for a bit and wait til this all passes.
(for those that know me. i sing on a regular basis).

anyways.
i'm getting better.
and i'm believing for a much quicker recovery. :)
of course.
i couldn't do a post without pictures.

(i did a lot of sleeping this last week. daniel graciously documented the event. check out the no makeup!! heh).

my lamp got booted to the floor to make room for the vaporizer and my lil' pharmacy.

thats right. i watched i love lucy and the waltons while in bed!!!

i am SOOOO behind on blogging.
so sorry.

daniel had a birthday party last week.
a surprise party, actually.
but with a twist.

i planned a dinner with daniels favorite foods.
and invited some very close friends/family to be our guests.
i called the guests a week ahead of time and informed them on the festivities.
then did my shopping for daniels gift and for the food while he was out of town.
he had NO idea.

i started cooking that day and he was still clueless. :)
he thought we were having dinner with our best friends, sean & vanessa.
i made stuffed mushrooms, stuffing, green bean casserole and had a big crown roast pork in the oven. :)
again... daniel had no idea why i was cooking a ton of food.
i guess thats one good thing out of having a husband whom is so non-observant.
we even had a friend sneak over some food. he dropped off a bag of goodies at the door while daniel was sitting in the living room - and he didn't even notice.

the twist was.
instead of me taking him out and coming home to "surprise!"
our doorbell kept ringing after 7pm.
he was so confused in the beginning on why people kept showing up.
then i told him.
"they're here for you!!! surprise!!! happy birthday!!!"
he freaked out!!!
it was amazing.

we love you all and are so glad to have friends/family like you to share our special days with.

the decision is final.
and daniel and i are so incredibly excited.
our one year anniversary trip will be to... dublin ireland!!!
we'll be taking a few tours there... including a photography tour. :)
our tour guide will be a professional photographer that will be taking us to some photo hot spots and giving tips on how to take some sweet photos.
yeah.... needless to say... we're pretty stoked about that one.

it'll be nice to check out some of daniels roots there.
aaaaand it doesn't end there!!!
two of my dear friends live in germany at the moment.
not only are they good friends of mine... they are married and an amazing couple!!!
i've been friends with them both since high school.
i haven't seen them in a few years. at least three.
they were planning on doing a dublin trip this year anyways...
so we're gonna plan on meeting up and spending some time with them there.

all i can say at this point is... AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!
we are very blessed.
(oh yeah. so the baby plans. have obviously been put on hold... probably for a few years now).

i can't wait til we can post pictures that we ourselves have taken of ireland.
seven months... and counting. :)

so.
it's already almost that time!!!
daniel and i are coming upon our halfway mark to our one anniversary!!!
it seems like i was walking down the aisle last week!!!

our one year anniversary trip plans have started.
we've been researching different locations.
italy. greece. ireland. prague. and of course, our beloved japan.

we're still making our decision.
and we're hoping to finalize the plans in the next couple months.
but i think we've narrowed it down to one of two locations.
1. a return trip to tokyo/kyoto (of course).
2. ireland (to daniels roots).

where do you think we should go??
i have a feeling ireland is gonna be the choice.
we shall see. :)

i'm giddy thinking about it all!!
the plan is to leave a couple weeks into september.
my bff/cousin/matron of honor is due with her first child around our anniversary.
and we definitely DO NOT want to miss that occassion!! :)
so exciting!!!

stephy and i are also pretty big fans of the recent m&m commercials.

soooo... naturally - i was completely thrilled to pieces when i saw these two pictures in my inbox from steph.
it totally made my day!!!!!

i love the detail steph did of my everyday white eyeshadow, camera and totem pole in what appears to look like japan! :)

and steph made herself in good ol' cali with her guitar.

we also joke around at how if we could be a color... i'd be hot pink and she'd be pale pink.

so... i was recently itching to take some pictures.
so i called on my infamous friend, stephanie (aka stephy) to be my model once again.
she's SOOO much fun to photograph.
we met a good 5.5 years ago in music school. and have been close friends ever since. (she also sang in my wedding last august).
she's a pretty sweet MAC makeup artist at dillards. (anyone needing a makeup job-call her!!)
she does all my makeup for special events/photo gigs/etc. so i can promote her work.
(trust me - when she does my makeup - it gets noticed - even by strangers).
anyways... we headed to downtown tulsa, walked around for a couple hours and got so many great shots.
i have a ton of favorites, i had to post more than a few of them. :)

lastnight was pure f-u-n.
a night full of laughing and friends!
15 of us couples from our awesome church got together and went out for a night of food, chatting and one big limo.
we all had dinner at cheddars in tulsa.
then got picked up by a limo to take a christmas lights tour.

i did a couple family shoots today.
one of them being a really good friend of mine, sarah.
sarah has literally been with me from the beginning of me wanting to start my photography career.
i took her pregnancy pictures when she was pregnant with maddie.
some engagement and family pics when maddie was born.
and that was when i just had a lil point and shoot and a sheet as a backdrop. heh.

i was blessed to be able to witness her wedding last year to tony.
and now... she's added a little boy to her beautiful family!!
so sarah and tony brought over their photogenic offspring.
and away with pictures we went.
it was SOOO cold and windy outside today.
so they were all troopers.

HAPPY DECEMBER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i can't believe it's already month no. 12.
this year was so.... full!
lots of growth.
lots of planning.
lots of learning.
and ya know... getting married and all. ;)
it's been a Godfilled and eventful year.
and we have so much more to look forward to next year!
it's exciting.

BIG news!
daniel is officially full time with me!!!
i joke around and say daniel is now my employer.
heheh.
so this is what we now do.
it's literally a huge dream come true.
i've been planning on doing this for quite a few years now.
and it's all starting to develop.
it's amazing to watch things unfold when you put your dreams in Gods hands.
patience is key.
i've worked here and there.
i patiently and unpatiently at times waited on His timing.
i researched, practiced, etc. in photography.
and now...
God has really blessed us with His favor.
and has definitely paved this road for us.
it's a big step of faith.
but our God hasn't let us down yet.
and we never plan on Him to.
it's all lookin up from here.

also.
after research and decision making.
daniel and i have been blessed with the opportunity and funds to buy a better and more professional website.
daniel did such a good job building what we have now.
i was impressed with his creativity and diligence.
we decided and have purchased a site with bludomain.
they pretty much rock our faces off.
so look out for our new website in the following days/week!!!

we headed over to riverside for a family play date.

the weather was PERFECT!
it was the last real nice, warm and sunny day i remember of this year.

as most of you know.
daniel and i are working on doing our photography business full time.
we have a lot to do. and learn.
i want to remain completely humble about everything.
and constantly have an attitude of expectation and learning.
and i'm loving being able to now concentrate fully on the business and getting it going.
we have TONS of ideas of raising the bar in photography.
every client we have will not only be special.
but we want to make them feel incredibly important as well.

soooo we recently got some toys! :)

we're giving the new blu ray disc player a chance.
so far, it's pretty brilliant.
the picture is amazing as well as the unit itself being modern and sexy.

and watching them for a few hours while they connected everything together.

daniel also got the new xbox elite.
the new guitar hero.
and whatta you know... halo 3.
he's a halo nut.

the only cool thing i like about all this is...
i got me a pink controller.

we had some friends over the other night.

mandy played guitar hero for the first time.

lastnight i had a senior session with my little cousin, john.
he's not really little.
i just keep saying that so i don't remember how old i really am.
i still can't believe that he is really a high school senior.
it seems like yesterday we were all little bratty kids runnin around.
time goes by so fast

anyways, i'll be posting pictures very soon from that.
after our session, we walked around and i did a little shopping at dwelling spaces.
an aaaamazing store!!! you all should check it out.
i got a couple stationary sets and some buttons.
then afterwards, we walked next door and met up with daniel and his friend thats in town, kevin.
we headed on over to tsunami sushi.
we feasted on some good sushi, calamari, laughs & conversation.

last saturday i had the honor of helping my good friend, heather, in photographing the wedding of pam and dean.
what a beautiful couple!!
their wedding was amazing with some great reception dancers!!
it's so awesome to see a couple wed and put God first in their relationship.
i wish them the best in their future.

pam and dean were married at tarp chapel and their entertainment was provided by my personal friend, DJ Kurtis from DJ connections.

so our aaaamazing church had their 2nd annual family fun festival last week.
it was an awesome success.
we are very blessed to be part of such a great church family.
daniel and i had the privilidge to head up the water toss and obstacle course.
good times. :)

we are anxiously waiting on our new mac. can't wait!
but in the meantime, we had a box laying out and our kitty decided to call it home for a few hours.

(right now, anyways.)
i finally finished editing jessica's bridal pictures.
i took them over the summer.
but i wanted to post them before i forgot.
so here they are.

jessica was a pro.
she was willing to do anything in her dress.
i was happy she said she would lay on all those rocks between the railroads.
she was a lot of fun to work with too.
she's got a strong model face.
so it was hard to get a bad shot.

this is a special post for me.
i did a lil' photo shoot of my grandma the other day.
the only thing i wish was that the background was in new mexico.
but it was still fun.
she's full blooded navajo (as am i).
and she's seriously the sweetest person i've ever known.
so amazingly into her faith and a great example of what i want to be like when i grow up.
she's 96 years old and is seriously way cool.
here's a few shots.

so, tonight.
we had a pumpkin carving party at our house.
it was fun.
candy. snacks. goodies. pizza. and pumpkin carving.
mmmm. good times.
we have friends that we thoroughly enjoy.
friendship company is always super fun.
here's some shots from tonight...

oh. and here we are trying to figure out how to carve our pumpkins with pumpkin patterns.

my little cousin (whom was also my beautiful flowergirl) is showing us her way tricked out pumpkin. tricked out... heh.

we love fun sean and kara!

how could we not have a party without sean and vee?!
(you'll notice them in a lot of our pictures. vee and i are cousins.)

we've been busy busy busy.
getting our business started.

life is busy.
